Kuma is the first Minato Mokum dog!

A gorgeous, goofy, and sweet Shiba male with a strong masculine presence. Self-confident and self-aware like Leonardo DiCaprio, Kuma even boasts a career in modeling. He is incredibly photogenic, capturing the hearts of cameras (for more information, check his modeling CV).

His numerous show titles attest to his excellence, as Kuma has emerged victorious in almost every show he participated in.

A badass and expert-level food addict, Kuma is the clown of our pack, consistently bringing joy and laughter. He enthusiastically learns new tricks and has already mastered many. He discovered a passion for agility and successfully passed his first exam.

He loves engaging in wild west stare-downs with Hanami, going on scooter rides (in his K9 sport sack), mountainbike rides and enthusiastically participating in any crazy activities we propose. However, he is not a fan of swimming and prefers to feel the earth under his paws. Additionally, he has a slight fear of heights.

Kuma is sweet and caring and takes on the role of the pack dentist, ensuring the teeth of all the females are clean. He loves to do tricks and play with kids and is great with other animals. He is a joy to work with.

It’s Kuma who was the first Japanese dog to steal a huge part of my heart. He is THE reason why the Minato Mokum kennel exist today.

Name History

Kuma is named after my favorite hamburger restaurant in Chicago: Kuma's Corner. Kuma means "bear" in Japanese, which suits him perfectly.
